Jeff Parker's "Max Brown" 7" announced + album coming top of 2020
We are very happy to share today..
New music by composer/producer/guitarist Jeff Parker..
~ "Max Brown" ~
The first single from his forthcoming full-length LP..
Available NOW on 7" vinyl & digital!!!
"Max Brown" is a soulful, swinging cypher of lyrical soloing by guitarist Parker with saxophonist Josh Johnson (Chicago-raised MD for Leon Bridges, sideman for Kiefer, Carlos Niño, more) and trumpeter Nate Walcott (of Bright Eyes, M. Ward renown), held down by the rhythm section of Jamire Williams (drummer for Moses Sumney, contributor to Solange's latest) and bassist Paul Bryan (who co-produced "Max Brown" alongside Parker).
"MAX BROWN" MUSIC VIDEO
filmed & directed by Mikel Patrick Avery
Also out today.. a music video for "Max Brown" made by interdisciplinary artist Mikel Patrick Avery. Longtime followers of IARC may recognize Mikel's name.. because he played pump organ for Rob Mazurek on our very first release IARC0001 Alternate Moon Cycles. Turns out, in addition to playing the hell out of a pump organ, being an incredible all around drummer/percussionist, photography and other auxiliary talents, Mikel is a top notch film director in the making.
!!! International Anthem x Nonesuch Records !!!
Both this "Max Brown" single and Jeff Parker's forthcoming full length LP (which releases late January 2020) come via a new label partnership that we are also proud to announce today:
International Anthem x Nonesuch Records!
We'll be co-releasing six albums over the next three years with the legends of Nonesuch, i.e. the half-century-old label that's housed the likes of Steve Reich, Caetano Veloso, David Byrne, Laurie Anderson, Ry Cooder, the whole classic suite of Buena Vista Social Club artists/albums, and so many more... It's a genuine honor for us to share this journey and learn from such stalwart promoters of progressive music! Stay tuned for more great stuff from our blossoming partnership coming down the pipes in 2020.
